The current ecological footprint emitted by humans exceeds by far what Earth and its resources can take. We want to take action and preserve Mother Earth and humanity on it.
The Ecological Footprint is today’s best measurement to compare human use of resources with what the Earth’s ecologic system can renew. We work with the data of Footprint Network to measure the impact of our products on the environment.
We envision a future where all can thrive within the means of our Earth, which we aim for by reducing ecological overshoot.
Depending on our lifestyle, we generate an ecological footprint. This can be achieved if we unite forces to bring the footprint down to a maximum of 1 Earth. Below are a few examples of how wasteful some lifestyles generally are.
How many Earths we would need if
humanity continues to live how we do today without population growth.
we would all live like the average internet user
we would all live like the average user of webshops
we would all live like the average North American
How does our ecological footprint affect the environment?
- Lack of oxygen
- Growing desertification
- Lack of sweet water
- Increase of toxic waste
- Extinction of certain animal breeds
There are many more consequences that could be listed here. Those are examples of how urgent environmental change is needed.
